Solenad

Alongside Nuvali is Solenad, a site which jams essential shopping and dining in a relaxing lakeside environment. It is connected to the Lakeside Evozone commercial area via pedestrian and bike lanes. Solenad awaits at the entrance of the Lakeside Evozone and is nestled and annexed to the 4-hectare-wide man-made lake. Its picturesque invites people to mingle, chat and eat together with their love ones. Furthermore, Solenad also accelerates Santa Rosa’s tourism due to its growing popularity amongst its nearby towns and provinces like Calamba City, Manila and Batangas(Nuvali Site, 2009).

My first visit in Solenad lasted for about 2-3 minutes, because I was not able to go down the vehicle I am riding on or even to step on Solenad’s ground. But I had an annoying yet enlightening experience at my second visit (an accidental one). I was on DLSC when I was informed that one of my peers will be having his birthday celebration in Nuvali. He had texted me that another friend of us will shoulder everything regarding the unexpected birthday bash he is going to have. It was clearly stated on his text message that it is going to be held at NUVALI that’s why I went straight to Nuvali. I had gone checking out every shop and restaurant starting from Starbucks, Yellow Cab up to Reyes Barbeque hoping for some traces of my friends, but I had found no friends at all, NONE! I almost made about 3 turns around Nuvali, going here and there! Obviously I was not able to stand that situation thus, I got tired and stop.

Exhausted and hopeless, I was about to go home when suddenly my eyes got nailed on the right side of Nuvali, where I saw Solenad. I was wondering perhaps, my friends would be there. Hence, I crossed the two-lane road which serves as the main entry going to Nuvali and which also lies as a link between Solenad and Nuvali. That very night made Solenad entirely different to my eyes. As I begun to walk and step on its wide green land, I felt the cool wind which I  believe came far from Mount Makiling. As I enter the area and try to find my peers, a lot of new stalls, shops and restaurants appeared next to my naked eyes. Shops like Bench and a lot of unfamiliar restaurants like Sumo-san. I tried to look around and thankfully, found my friends in the latter one. I went inside, mocked and threw few jokes on them then, greeted the celebrant (He is a boy) a happy birthday! After eating, we had a walk around Solenad (window shopping!) and found out that there is a newly built Robinson’s Market which offers a lot of goods, foods and household items. Finally, after a long-exciting-tiring night, we decided to go home via our friend’s vehicle. Looking outside the car’s window and as the coherent moon hits the vast green land and freshly-established buildings of Solenad,  I had realized and witnessed the beauty Solenad was blessed to have.

Solenad, a part of Nuvali which undeniably imbibes the ultimate agenda of not only building a modern nation, but also creating a progressive nation that will protect and suffice the needs of the future generations.
